At some point in the future there will be a requirement to update the core framework or 3rd party modules due to the release of security updates or patches, this is inevitable for all websites regardless of framework used, this isn't a 'Drupal thing'. If these updates are not carried out you run the risk of your website being hacked or compromised in some way. We monitor Drupal security updates and pro-actively carry out these updates for clients with a maintenance & support plan.
Ongoing support is important if your website is an integral tool for your organisation which is used regularily by your staff. As part of this plan we are on hand to answer any questions you may have about operating your website and to provide assistance and advice on a day to day basis. If necessary, we can also provide direct support to your customers or users if they have a technical query or problem.
Design and functionality changes are provided as part of the plan which can be very useful if your website is continually evolving. If charged at an hourly rate these can add up quickly so a maintenance & support plan is more economical for iterative enhancements to a website.
